Hey People, listen to us!
"Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me..."
We hope somebody
hear us!

"May
you live in interesting times!" says a Chinese curse and I'm
asking myself if, indeed, the humanity reached its point of no return.
I'm asking myself if it is our own fault for being here or we are only the
victims of the history, because Miron Costin (Romanian writer of 17th
century) said that "the times are not under the man, but the man is
under the times"
Can we
do something? My kids believe it is possible. And I believe them!
I think we, all, MUST listen to the voice of our
children!

Lately, a strange phenomenon happens around us: great and sudden
variations of temperature, frequent intensifications of wind streams,
amplification of desert zone etc. The explication for these unpleasant
things is Global Warming.
To this phenomenon our town, Comanesti, already confronted. For us, the
summer of 2005 represented a landmark in the struggle against
deterioration of our area.
For this reason, we believe that the initiative of the children from
Dimitrie Ghica School (considering their project Point of no
return?) is a valuable one. They try to make the people
understand the danger of global warming and also to find solutions for
stopping it.
We should say that the children of Dimitrie Ghica School are also
involved in other environmental project: they participated last year in
activities of planting trees, they have a project about garbage
collecting and, as far as we know, they carry on many other projects
about environment.
Their involvement in such projects proves that children care for the
future of our planet.
Local Public Administration supports the youth of
our town in their activities and hopes that this way a closer connection
will be established between our children and the world wide ones.
Good luck!

Bacau County and Police of Comanesti – Proximity
Police Department support the extracurricular activities of the
children. For this reason we believe that the project initiated by the
pupils from Dimitrie Ghica School Comanesti is welcomed.
We are very glad to do things
that can have a good influence for the future of our kids.
We think that the project „Point
of no return?” represents a valuable initiative because in this
way our children can prove their ability in dealing with problems
concerning the whole humanity.
The WEB site respects the right
of freedom speech granted by Romanian laws.
For us, as institutions, it is
great honor to collaborate in this project. We will support the project
team leaded by Mrs. Teofana Lavinia Varareanu throughout the
competition!
Good luck! |

One of the greatest preoccupations of the
present government is promoting the production of energy from renewable
sources.
Even if we would consider that 32% of the
energy produced in Romania is hydro energy, I think that an adequate
legislation is more then necessary. This will include, of course,
financial stimulations granted to those producing that energy. Such a
legislative initiative will be discussed sooner in the Parliament of
Romania.
But one of our greatest problem is
related to citizens' mentality. We have to work in order to change it.
And this can be better done if we involve children and youths in
projects and programs regarding European Union' decisions and
World' s policies.
Therefore, I think the project Point of no return?
represents one step before in mentality's change and proves that
Romanian kids care about what happens around them.
I wish them to win the competition!
Good luck!

Habitat for Humanity Comanesti
Habitat for Humanity Comanesti welcomes the initiative of this
project, because our organization has already been involved in actions
for diminishing the impact of global warming effects on families and
environment. We had activities in Comanesti, Pitesti, Dolj and Tecuci.
Due to
these dramatic environment changes, Habitat Europe and Habitat Romania
established intervention departments for natural calamities.
We
think that the fact the children from Dimitrie Ghica School involved in
such a project represents a positive signal for adults that are able
to decide the direction of the actions!
We
would like to say that we will support the team of Dimitrie Ghica
School!
Good luck! |

Climatic
changes, through the prism of their consequences: floods,
drought,
starvation, migrations, economic instability, disease – facts
concerning, formerly, only environment specialists or TVs like Discovery
channel, have become today a frequent discussed matter for state chiefs,
governments, state secretaries, financial or trade ministers.
Global Warming, determined by
economic development, must not go on by energy consumption and pollution
even if these lead to the growth of Gross National Product. The role of
public policies will be crucial for stopping the inefficient use of
energy.
Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change (IPCC) Report, Stern Report(2006) and Stanley Morgan Bank
Report (2008) warn that climatic changes will brake economical growth
and will increase inflation and also world socio-economic uncertainties.
These studies have an essential
role in convincing world countries to assume the global effort of
reducing carbon emissions as it was stated at Earth Summit (Rio de
Janeiro -1992) and in Kyoto Protocol (1997).
I
think that the project of the four kids from Dimitrie Ghica School
represents an alarm signal for all those involved in environmental
actions, in financial and economic development. We must do something for
offering our children a planet to live!
Listen to their
voices!

We think that this project is a way to
get children involved in the problems of today's society. We welcome
this project in our school and we hope that our children can prove their
ability in dealing with such overwhelming matters.
We wish them all the luck and we - as educational institution - promise
to make their work well known!
Good luck! |
